Trans Legislation Tracker in the news

A year of data collection, learning, and interviews

In 2022, I continued maintaining and expanding the Trans Legislation Tracker. That work has put me into conversations with leading researchers, reporters, and organizations who are striving to tell the story of anti-transgender legislation in the U.S. The site helped drive features at publications including NBC News, Them, Human Rights Campaign, and Vice News. The site also gained attention in profiles from The Stranger and Xtra magazine. The archive also shaped academic research, appearing in The Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics from Cambridge University Press. The data was cited by Admiral Rachel L. Levine, who serves as the Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH) for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
