About

I’m a technologist, writer, researcher, musician, teacher, and artist in Seattle. I hold a PhD in creative writing from the University of Cincinnati, where I taught courses in fiction, composition, and digital media studies.

I created Trans Legislation Tracker, one of the most robust public records on anti-transgender legislation in the US. Our work has been featured by NBC news, Vice News, Them, and The Stranger. We partner with researchers, and our data has been cited in academic publications including The Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics from Cambridge University Press.

Over the years, I’ve also helped edit magazines including American Short Fiction in Austin, co-founded a prosperous annual two-day music festival, written and directed short films, and created and syndicated an NPR radio segment about cultural oddities.
